Letters from Father Chmura

Our Lady of Peace Church

Fr Gary Chmura sent a letter explaining what has fallen on OLP in terms of debt from St. Cecilia and the ways they are trying to make a difference. Please read the following quote from his letter.

"You may have heard that OLP has been assigned a good chunk of the debt from St. Cecilia - even after the sale of the buildings and some of the furnishings the Diocese is requiring us to pay about $88,000. The debt from Epiphany hasn't been calculated yet. One of the ways that we are raising funds to repay this is through a raffle -- some of which goes towards repairs to cummins hall here at OLP and some of which goes toward the debt. It is in conjunction with something called a "Taste of Fall" which is too complex to explain - obviously though it includes dinners. I am wondering if you would be willing to have raffle tickets available and promote them at the next Scattered Seed Mass - perhaps explaining that the proceeds will help retire the debt of St. Cecilia and Epiphany. BTW Holy Spirit also picked up obligations for some of the debt - around $15,000."

I would very much encourage anyone who is able to help make this raffle a success. We have few parishes that have that warm family spirit and we need to do all that we can to keep them going.

Thanks ahead of time for your help.
